What kinds of writing can I submit?
You can submit fiction, personal narratives, and poetry. Each student can submit up to two pieces per category.
How long can my writing submissions be?
Please keep each of your writing submissions under 1,000 words.
Can I submit art?
Yes! We are currently accepting all art mediums, including photography. Each student can submit up to five pieces of artwork.
What if I don't want people to know who I am?
That's fine! You can submit your art and writing completely anonymously.
When do submissions close?
Writing submissions close on January 24, 2025 at midnight.
Art submissions close on January 31, 2025
What is Words with Wings?
Words with Wings is the creative voice of the River's Edge Christian Academy student body. This literary arts magazine will be created by the students of RECA's 2024-2025 Creative Writing class. We believe that everyone should have a chance to share their creativity with others. We are collecting submissions from RECA high school students and will be publishing the best submissions in our magazine. You can purchase a copy this spring!
